Summer Update

Oof. I know, it's been a painfully long time since my last post...but not without reason! For the past 2 months, I've been on the road for virtually the entire time. There was a little bit of fun travel interspersed, as you will soon see. :)

First, in mid-July, I managed to catch up with a long-time college friend and her husband(halfway on their honeymoon), attended their wedding banquet in HK, and then together, made our pilgrimage to HK Disneyland!!


The park was small, with only three lands, but it was fun nonetheless. We started at park opening, and finished by 4pm.

The rides were well done, and the many of the designs/decor even had improvements over those in Disneyland in California!
It was interesting seeing Chinese food being served, and signage being in Chinese... I'd heard that HK Disney was having issues with many of the mainland Chinese customs, such as babies not wearing diapers... When the kid needs to go, you just bend their legs up, and hold them over the plants!

The following weekend, Jeff and I took a couple days off and hit up Singapore, and then Bali, Indonesia. A group of 8 of us went to Bali. 6 shared a 3 bedroom villa, and we had our own 1 bedroom villa. Each villa came equipped with a private pool, a private kitchen, and outdoor gazebo dining area. Meals were prepared by the resort staff in your villa kitchen. .

Day 2, we went scuba diving in Tulamben Bay, where a shipwreck is located very close to shore By entering the water from the shore, you only need to swim 20 meters out before the shipwreck is visible. Another great shore dive in the area is called The Dropoff. The fish and sealife that were visible here are a far cry from the cold waters of Monterey, California!!

Day 3 involved a bike ride along the beach, a 2-hour deep tissue massage for $16 USD, and a beautiful sunset over the ocean from the great bar and restaurant, Ku De Ta.
