Welcome to China, the home of the world's largest concentration of construction cranes. This is the view out my bedroom window, looking down the street. They're constructing a neighborhood/small-city across the street from me, and construction starts at 5:45am SHARP, every weekday. Luckily, on weekends, they have the decency to start at 7am.

The sky is kinda hazy today, as you can probably tell, but it's kinda like that on a normal basis. After the typhoon passed last weekend, we had a really really clear day...and that's when my roommate and I discovered a new building less than a kilometer away, just beyond the buildings down the street...

Oh, see those trees? Once you leave this little street, you don't see anymore for a while. It's a pretty stark change from having Forest Park just behind the house!

The decor in the living room and dining room is kinda modern-ish, not quite my style...but at least it's all white, with dark furniture. We have tile flooring in here. The red rug came courtesy of the local Ikea, and the aloe plants were from my mom's cousin.

Meet Rosa Leang. She's a rotational engineer, out here on a 4-6 month assignment. She's from Arizona, but lives in New Mexico, since that's the Intel site that she's based at.

Notice the one lightbulb that's out. grr. That happened the day after I'd had the other two replaced! *sigh*
