Explanation for the Hiatus
"The Earthquake That Silenced Asia Pacific"... December 26th, 2006. A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Taiwan. Only 2 fatalities, and the resulting tsunami never reached land. Relatively minor damage, one might think... Think again. Undersea cables linking telecommunications and internet between the Asia Pacific region and the rest of the world were damaged...resulting in 1 month of internet blackout, and another month of painfully slow access. Blogs and articles were quoted as saying, "it's like living in the Stone Ages", and "No Internet. No life." Such was the situation for us from New Years until the end of February 2007. And such is the reason for my terribly long hiatus, from relaying the tidbits of my life in China to all of you... But let us begin again...
